BACOLOD City – A man was found dead at their house in Barangay Doldol, Valladolid, Negros Occidental yesterday, 13 hours after he was involved in a traffic accident at Barangay Palaka last Sunday.

Police Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., Valladolid town police chief, identified the victim as Jose Rodney Alvarez Jr., 29.

Benoman said that his grandmother heard Alvarez howling early Monday.

She then tried to wake him up but he was unconscious. This prompted her to call for assistance.

Prior to that, Benoman said that Alvarez allegedly rammed into a tricycle in Barangay Palaka around 6 p.m. last Sunday.

He suffered minor injuries but he refused to be brought to the hospital.

He was instead brought home by the police, while his motorcycle was impounded at the police station.

Benoman said that Alvarez was found lifeless around 7:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17.

Benoman said they are suspecting that the victim might have suffered internal bleeding.
