ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 56-year-old person wanted for illegal drugs charges was arrested Wednesday morning at Sitio Narra in Brgy. Punta Tabuc here.
Reynaldo Aringo was collared by the Roxas City Police Station and Criminal Investigation and Detections Group (CIDG)-Capiz at his house.
He did not resist when the police presented the warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Esperanza Isabel Poco-Deslate on March 13, 2020.
The cases were docketed as Criminal Case Nos. C-311-18 and C-312-18 for violation of Section 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Aringo was first arrested by police in a drug buy-bust operation in 2018 in Brgy. Tanza here.
His arrest sparked a commotion when former Sanggunian Panlalawigan member Roberto Ignacio questioned if barangay officials should stand as witnesses during the inventory of the recoveries.
Ignacio was the husband of Linda, the village chief of Brgy Tanza, when the operation was conducted.
Aringo is presently detained at the Roxas City police station.
