Man Kills Live-In Partner’s Cousin Over Jealousy
Jealousy allegedly drove a man to stab and kill his live-in partner’s cousin at their barracks in Barangay Villamonte on Thursday night.
The victim was identified only as “Rolly,” 41, of San Enrique, Negros Occidental.
Police Maj. Elmer Bonilla, chief of Police Station 4, said the victim, 32-year-old suspect Norberto of Bago City, and another companion were having a drinking session when a heated argument broke out.
Bonilla said the suspect confronted the victim over his behavior toward his cousin and punched him during the dispute.
Although the group was initially pacified by their companion, the suspect allegedly left the barracks and later returned with a knife.
The victim was stabbed in the armpit and back and was declared dead at a hospital.
Bonilla said the suspect fled the scene but later surrendered to Police Station 1.
He added that both parties had reached a settlement.
