BACOLOD City – A man who apologized for a previous misunderstanding was hacked to death by his co-worker at Purok Mahogany 1, Barangay Pinapugasan, Escalante City, Negros, Occidental last Saturday.

Killed was Julius Torcuator, 39, of the said village.

Based on police investigation, Torcuator and the suspect identified as 33-year-old Ronald Silma, both workers of a sugarcane farm, met after receiving their salary.

When the victim apologized to the suspect about their misunderstanding the other night, the suspect just ignored him and instead drew his bolo and allegedly hacked the victim.

Torcuator suffered hack wounds in his left shoulder. He was able to run but he later fell to the ground.

He was taken to Vicente Gustilo District Hospital (VGDH) where he expired.

Silma voluntarily surrendered to a barangay official and admitted to the crime, according to the police.
