A 32-year-old man was slightly wounded following a brawl with his older brother early evening of Dec 20, 2020 in Tubungan, Iloilo.
The victim, Arnel Ellema, suffered a minor hack wound on his right ear and back of his head.
Lieutenant Jose Romel Samson, Tubungan police chief, and the victim was rushed to Rep. Pedro Trono Memorial Hospital in Guimbal town and was later released after getting treatment.
Police investigation indicated that Arnel and the suspect, 48-year-old Romeo Ellama, drank liquor at the latter’s house in Barangay Morcillas, Tubungan.
An argument later erupted.
The younger Ellama then choked his brother who claimed to have almost run out of breath as he struggled to escape from the victim’s grasp.
Romeo managed to get hold of a bolo and hacked the victim.
“The suspect said he had no intention of harming the victim. In fact, it was Arnel who allegedly used to bully him around,” Samson said.
It was gathered that no charges would be filed against Romeo, as Arnel already signified that he will not pursue a criminal case against his brother.
