BACOLOD City – Drunkenness triggered an altercation between two brothers that resulted in the death of one of them in Barangay Bocana, Ilog, Negros Occidental last Saturday.

Police identified the victim as Marvin Demson, 36.

Investigation disclosed that the suspect identified as Mario Demson Jr., 39, and Marvin had a drinking session when they decided to go to the latter’s house to eat.

However, a commotion ensued between them after they figured in a heated argument.

Marvin then allegedly punched Mario in the mouth, according to the police.

The suspect retaliated by allegedly stabbing the victim twice in his abdomen using a knife tucked in his waist, police said.

Marvin’s live-in partner tried to pacify them but Mario also attacked her.

Fortunately, she evaded the blow and was able to grab a wood to pacify the suspect, who was later arrested by a barangay official.

Police also recovered from the crime scene the knife used in the incident.

Marvin was taken to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
