BACOLOD City – Jealousy triggered a man to allegedly kill the lover of his former wife at Sitio Galo, Barangay 5, Isabela, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
The victim was identified as Jose Anillo, 45, of Barangay Bulad.
Police Captain Ryan Villasario, town police chief, said Anillo was cleaning his motorcycle when the suspect Bienvinido Pordan, 46, of Barangay 5, passed by him and allegedly stabbed him with a jungle knife.
Anillo suffered a lone stab wound in the back and was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.
Villasario said that Pordan and his ex-wife mutually separated 11 years ago.
But every time the suspect drinks liquor, he would always remember the painful separation, Villasario said.
“Daw ga sink in abi sa iya ang sakit pag bulagay nila pag makainom siya, pero migohay man na sila sang biktima,” the police chief said.
Pordan and his ex-wife had two children, while the latter had three children with Anillo, Villasario said.
Villasario said Pordan was arrested in La Castellana town later that day after police received information that he was hiding with his close relatives there.
Police recovered from him the knife he used in the incident.
Murder charges will be filed against Pordan.
