A 29-year-old man accused of rape was arrested afternoon of February 16, 2021 at Barangay
San Antonio, Ajuy, Iloilo.
Primo Labsan, a resident of Barangay Mangorocoro, Ajuy, was charged for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in 2013.
Lieutenant Danilo Noca, Ajuy police chief, said they coordinated with the suspect’s family after his arrest warrant was issued October 26, 2020.
Labsan is facing a case for two counts of rape with carnal knowledge in Criminal Case No. 2020-9566 to 9567.
The case is pending in the sala of Regional Trial Court Branch 66 Judge Jose Mauricio Gomez in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
No bail was recommended for Labsan’s temporary liberty.
Labsan left Ajuy town after the case was filed against him. He stayed in Iloilo City until he got married and temporarily resided in Pavia, Iloilo.
The suspect denied the charge saying that the complainant was his girlfriend at that time.
But Labsan tried to settle the case after the arrest warrant was issued.
Meanwhile, another man was arrested in Estancia town for the crime of attempted rape in Criminal Case No. 2016-7896.
Remos Posecion, 26, was arrested at his place at Barangay Tanza, Estancia, Iloilo around 11:30AM of February 16 through a bench warrant issued by Judge Rogelio Balagtas.
Posecion is now detained.
