BACOLOD City – A misunderstanding between their wives triggered a man to shoot his younger brother at Sitio Ani-e, Barangay Nabali-an, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
Police Lieutenant Arturo Margallo Jr., deputy police chief of Himamaylan City Police Station, identified the victim as Armando Singson, 57.
Margallo said Armando was inside their house when the suspect identified as 59-year-old Arturo Singson entered and allegedly shot him on the face.
The victim was rushed to Gov. Valeriano Hospital and was later transferred in a hospital here, as he must undergo surgery.
“Nanaog ang bala sa li-og niya so medyo serious siya, need operahan,” Margallo said.
Police recovered from the scene a case of caliber .357 ammunition.
Margallo said Arturo was arrested at his house and police recovered from him a .357 Magnum revolver loaded with four cartridges and an empty shell.
“Ang ila asawa ang may away, tapos daw nagka grudges naman lang sila dayun,” he said.
In an interview with Aksyon Radyo Bacolod, Arturo said that he was drunk when he committed the crime.
The suspect asked forgiveness for his actions.
