ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A man was declared dead on arrival in a hospital after he was shot by a cousin in the middle of a drinking binge Sunday evening at Barangay Sublangon, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Franklin Billones of said place.
Investigation by the Pontevedra PNP indicated that Billones was about to go to his brother’s house when he saw the group of Presty Blancaflor, Japher Fuentes 35, Gerry Boy Fuentes, 36, all residents of Barangay Agdalipe; Jofil Durana, 22, and Junel Billones, 31, both residents of Barangay Bahit, Panitan, Capiz.
During the drinking binge, Blancaflor suddenly drew a gun and fired it in the air.
Billones proceeded to the scene to investigate until he figured in an argument with Blancaflor who happened to be his cousin.
A commotion occurred and the suspect shot the victim in the chest.
Billones was taken to Bailan District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Blancaflor voluntarily surrendered to the police and is presently detained at the custody of Pontevedra Municipal Police Station.
