ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 32-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified suspect early Saturday morning at Barangay Ibaca, President Roxas, Capiz.
The victim was identified as Duran Barredo of Barangay Hanglid also of said town.
According to Police Executive Master Sergeant Romeo Sol Ortencio III, Public Information Officer (PIO) of President Roxas Municipal Police Station, Barredo was riding a motorcycle from a funeral wake when the suspects waylaid him.
The victim suffered gunshot injuries in the chest, breast and leg. He died at Bailan District Hospital.
The police said they have a person of interest in the said incident.
Meanwhile, a man was declared dead on arrival in a private hospital here after he was shot by alleged riding-in-tandem suspects Saturday at Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Panitan, Capiz.
Initial investigation by the Panitan police identified the victim as Hadjie Buñi of legal age and resident of said place.
Buñi was at the gate of his house when the two suspects riding in a motorcycle arrived.
One of the suspects then draw a gun and shot the victim several times before fleeing.
Police recovered from the crime scene nine empty shells of .45 caliber ammunition.
