ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 48-year-old farmer was shot dead by his nephew Wednesday afternoon at Barangay Bag-ong Barrio in Tapaz, Capiz.
The police identified the victim as Lito Gamalando also of Bag-ong Barrio.
All was well when Gamalando and his nephew Genesis Gamalando, 31, were drinking liquor at the former’s house.
They later decided to continue their binge drinking in another house.
But a heated argument ensued between them while on their way to their next venue.
Bystanders then heard gunfire and later found the victim with gunshot wounds on the chest, face, and abdomen.
The victim was taken to Tapaz District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Genesis fled.
The police failed to recover the gun used in the shooting.
Genesis is now the subject of a manhunt operation.
