BACOLOD City – Policemen are exploring all angles behind the death of a man who was shot by five unidentified persons in Barangay Lalong, Calatrava, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
The victim was identified as Welfredo Brasona, 57, of Barangay Ani-e.
Police Major Ronald Santillan, town police chief, said the victim, along with his two helpers, was resting after cutting some trees when the perpetrators arrived.
One of the perpetrators then drew an unknown firearm, shot the victim in the forehead, and fled, according to Santillan.
The victim was taken to Calatrava Municipal Hospital but was declared dead.
Santillan said they are still blank on the motive of the incident.
He said they also could not yet tell if it could be insurgency-related, as investigation is ongoing.
