A 57-year-old man sustained a non-life-threatening injury after he was stabbed evening of Oct. 24 at Dingle, Iloilo.
Police only identified the victim as Nonoy, a laborer from Barangay Camambugan, Dingle.
Captain Aileen Lacrite, Dingle police chief, said Nonoy was sleeping when he was attacked by his 59-year-old brother alias Toto.
The two brothers are both bachelors and are living 60 meters away from each other.
Reports said that earlier that evening, Toto and Nonoy went binge drinking.
As both were already drunk, Nonoy again nagged the victim for not substantially sharing in their food expenses.
After a while, the victim went home and dozed off.
As he was sleeping, the suspect stabbed him on the right side of the chest using a spear used in fishing.
Members of the Dingle Municipal Police Station rushed the victim to Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town.
Lacrite said Nonoy was allowed to go home after getting treated.
The victim had also signed an affidavit of non-interest to signify that he would not pursue any criminal case against his older brother.
