BACOLOD City – A man who accused a police officer of assault was involved in a commotion in Barangay Singcang-Airport here after he was allegedly hammered by his neighbor last Wednesday.
According to the police, Rommel Lapore and two others were allegedly hammered by Jhe-em Oliveros, 34, of the said village.
Investigation disclosed that Oliveros, who was reportedly having a drinking session at their house, went out and passed by the victim’s house.
Oliveros then allegedly banged the gate, causing the victims’ pets to bark at him.
This then prompted the victims to go out of their house and followed the suspect.
But unknown to them, the suspect allegedly hid in the dark portion of the footwalk and when the victims passed by, Oliveros allegedly hammered the victims, hitting Rommel in the left part of his jaw, while two others were hit in the head.
A day after the incident, Lapore also accused a personnel of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here for allegedly assaulting him while he was working in the cop’s lechon business in the said village, as he failed to roast the lechon on time.
The police non-commissioned officer, however, has yet to receive a copy of the formal complaint, thus he is still rendering his duty at the headquarters, particularly at the General Services Unit, pending the investigation.
The cop also denied hurting his employee and even urged Lapore to have a medical check-up to determine if he had injuries.
The Provincial Internal Affairs Service (PIAS) will conduct fact finding to verify the allegation of the complainant against one of their personnel.
