Man whose family was killed in lightning strike seeks help

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The husband of a 35-year-old mother and father of a 6-year-old boy who died after they were hit by lightning Sunday at Sitio Agcagay in Barangay Bunga, Mambusao, Capiz, is appealing for financial help.

Leopoldo Alolod is asking the help of the local government unit (LGU) of Mambusao for the burial of his wife and son.

He also asked Mambusao Mayor Leodegario Labao Jr. to help him facilitate the return of the victims from Mambusao to Antique as they were considered locally stranded individuals (LSI).

Alolod said he was shocked when his family informed him about the incident.

The victims were from Tibiao, Antique, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they were stranded in Mambusao.

Rochel Ledesma, 35, and her son Boy died after lightning struck them Sunday night.

Based on the investigation by the Mambusao Municipal Police, the victims were found dead by their relatives inside their room.
