The man behind Kaya FC-Iloilo’s consistent success since 2018 will be parting ways with the team.

Coach Noel Marcaida, head coach of the Kaya FC for three years, has announced on his social media accounts that he will no longer call the shots for the Iloilo-based team.

With the AFC Cup nearing, coach Marcaida posted a lengthy message both on his Instagram and Facebook accounts with regards to his Kaya departure and him wishing the squad all the best for the AFC Cup.

Things went rough last season after Kaya settled for a 1st runner-up finish in the 2019 Philippines Football League and lost the Copa Paulino Alcantara Cup.

To make matters worse, Marcaida’s exit comes on the heels of Kaya FC’s main striker Jordan Mintah leaving to sign with a Malaysian Football Club.

Despite Marcaida’s exit, he said on his IG post that “It is unfortunate that we now have to part ways, but Kaya FC Iloilo will always occupy a special place in my heart. I will now pursue new paths, but would welcome an opportunity to work with the club again at some point in the future. As they say – never say never.”
