Filipino volleyball superstar Marck Espejo will be taking his talents to Bahrain after the Bani Jamra volleyball club acquired his services as an import.
The five-time UAAP Men’s volleyball MVP will be seeking to help Bani Jamra soar to greater heights in the highly-competitive Bahrain League.
“Itong league siguro sobrang mag-boost ng career ko ito if mag-boom ako doon. Kasi gulf area magandang exposure yon para sa akin,” Espejo said in an interview with Spin.ph.
Espejo will have a contract until January 30, 2021 and will go up against the finest volleyball players in the gulf area.
However, the 30th Southeast Asian Games silver-medalist will likely miss the first game for Bani Jamra due to a conflict in his scheduling when he arrives in Bahrain.
His stint in Bahrain will make him the first Filipino volleyball player to play in three different international leagues.
Espejo first came to Japan and served as reinforcement for the Oita Miyoshi in the Japan V. League and followed it up as an import for Visakha Volleyball Club in the Thailand League.
