BACOLOD City – A member of the Philippine Marine Corps is facing a criminal complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries following a shooting incident that wounded a nurse inside a restobar in Barangay Zone 2, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental last Sunday.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Gil John Despi, city police chief, said that John Emerson Dolino surrendered to the police on Monday, a day after the incident occurred.

Despi said that 32-year-old John Robert Sinoy and his friend were drinking inside the bar when he figured into a heated argument with Dolino.

“Nag maoy ni ang victim, tapos may gamay lang na disgustuhanay kay tuga na sang makahulubog na ilimnon,” Despi said.

This prompted Dolino to allegedly fire gunshots inside the bar.  A bullet hit Sinoy’s abdomen and he was taken to a hospital, Despi said.

Despi said that Dolino also turned over his government-issued firearm upon his surrender.

As of Tuesday, Jan. 24, Despi said that Dolino was processing his bail for his provisional liberty, while Sinoy is still confined in a hospital.
