Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo of Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental welcomed Moises Padilla Elementary School (MPES) students and teachers in her office recently when they present their awards from the Division Schools Press Conference held in Negros Occidental High School last October 29-31, 2019.
Among 60 schools, MPES won first place in Best Performing School in English, first runner-up in Best Performing School while the school’s news letter came in second in the Best School Paper.
Grace Aurelio was cited as the highest pointer adviser and the best performing adviser in English.
For the group category, MPES is champion in the Collaborative Desktop Publishing, placed second in English Broadcasting, and third in Filipino Broadcasting.
The individual category winners are:
KHAYZE PRESQUITO, 1st in English Feature Writing, English Science and Technology Writing and the Highest Pointer Journalist
CHESA JOYCE CANOPIN, 2nd in English Editorial Writing
ADRIEL JOSEFF AURELIO, 3rd in English Copyreading and Headline Writing, 4th in English Newswriting, and 2nd Highest Pointer Journalist
JIMMARIE ISABEL BASILIO, 8th place in English Sports Writing
ZYRA MONDIGO, 7th place in Filipino Science and Technology Writing
RALPH LESTER CAMINADE, 9th place in Filipino Sports Writing
Finally, REGINE NALAGON, 10th place in Filipino Copyreading and Headline Writing.
The winners will be representing Negros Occidental in the Regional Schools Press Conference on November 15-16, 2019 in Iloilo City which the mayor pledged to provide assistance.
