Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas will participate in the World Governments Summit gathering in Dubai on February 12 to 14, 2024.
The summit will bring together “visionary leaders” from different cities worldwide, providing a platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and strategies aimed at shaping the future of global governance.
Treñas said the invitation covers all his expenses, and the event includes a round table of mayors, where he will represent not only Iloilo City but also the Philippines on the international stage.
He said the gathering will also provide him with insights and ideas from other cities around the world.
“Mayo man ni nga experience para sa aton, para mapamatian ta man ang tanan,” he said.
The World Governments Summit Organization is a global, neutral, non-profit organization dedicated to shaping the future of governments.
Since its inception in 2013, the Summit has been a driving force in exploring the agenda of the next generation of governments. Its focus lies in harnessing innovation and technology to address universal challenges.
The Summit has successfully established a new model for international collaboration, inspiring and enabling the next generation of governments. It seeks to create a better future by championing missions that aim to reshape governance, foster innovation, and address the pressing issues that impact societies globally.
Treñas said his attendance at the Summit “will not only be a testament to the strides made by the city in effective governance but also an opportunity to contribute to the global conversation on shaping the future of governments.”
