The Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) has achieved a major milestone in its digital transformation journey with the successful implementation of RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, under the leadership of Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) and delaware Philippines.
This groundbreaking initiative, known as Synergy Phase 1.4, equips MCIA with advanced digital capabilities, streamlining operations and enabling data-driven decision-making for one of the busiest airports in the Philippines.
“This milestone represents a giant leap in our digital transformation journey, empowering us with comprehensive digital capabilities across ERP and EAM systems,” said MCIA Chief Financial Officer Henrik Jepsen. “We are now more efficient, agile, and equipped to make data-driven decisions with greater accountability.”
The project integrates state-of-the-art enterprise resource planning (ERP) and enterprise asset management (EAM) systems, enhancing real estate leasing, inventory management, asset tracking, and service management. SAP Work Clearance Management, SAP Service and Asset Manager, and SAP Ariba were also rolled out to improve procurement transparency and supplier performance.
Other key innovations include SAP Concur for expense and cash advance management, improved funds management, and seamless data integration with the Airport Operations Database (AODB) and Tenant Management System (TMS).
Despite the complexities of implementing such a comprehensive system, the transformation was completed in just under seven months, showcasing the dedication of MCIA’s Finance, Procurement, Operations, HR-Admin, and IT teams, alongside strong support from AIC and delaware Philippines.
“This achievement was made possible by the collaborative efforts of all teams, particularly our partners at delaware Philippines, who continue to drive our digital transformation initiatives and propel us toward greater success,” said Raymund Ramos, Vice President and AIC Head of IT & Digital.
The initiative sets a new standard for digital transformation in the airport sector, making MCIA a model for efficiency and innovation. “We are thrilled to have supported AIC and its subsidiaries in realizing this successful go-live,” said Rosette Carrao, Partner and Managing Director at delaware Philippines. “This project will further enhance MCIA’s operations, setting new benchmarks for digital transformation in the airport and infrastructure sectors.”
Simone Pigason, Senior Vice President for Customer Success at delaware Philippines, added, “delaware Philippines is committed to delivering transformative technologies across industries, paving the way for a future where every sector becomes a digital leader.”
This digital overhaul underscores AIC’s dedication to leveraging technology for business excellence. The partnership with delaware Philippines and SAP strengthens MCIA’s position as a world-class airport, ready to meet the demands of its stakeholders.
With this achievement, MCIA sets its sights on future innovations, continuing to drive efficiency, agility, and growth through advanced digital solutions.
