An engine mechanic has been added to the list of high-value individuals arrested in the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) campaign against illegal drugs.
Arvin, 39, a native of Cavite, was arrested at his home in Sitio Nalu-oyan, Barangay Sapao, Dumangas, on the evening of March 14.
Members of the Dumangas Municipal Police Station, along with personnel from the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group and the IPPO headquarters, arrested Arvin after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP5,100.
During a body search, authorities found seven more sachets and two knot-tied plastic packs of suspected shabu, along with several non-drug items.
The seized drugs weighed approximately 260 grams, with a standard drug price of PHP1.77 million.
Reports said Arvin sourced his supply from Metro Manila.
He is now in police custody, pending the filing of charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Col. Bayani Razalan, Iloilo police chief, commended the operating team for arresting another high-profile drug offender.
He also warned others involved in the illegal drug trade to stop their operations or face the full force of the law.
Razalan vowed that authorities would not rest until every drug dealer is brought to justice.
