BACOLOD CITY — Local media will select the “Darling of the Press” among the candidates vying for this year’s Miss Bacolod MassKara 2024 title.
Meneil Lopez, public relations head of MassKara Festival 2024, said Monday that the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation (BYF) is preparing for the Sashing Ceremony, one of the most anticipated pre-pageant events leading up to the Miss Bacolod MassKara 2024 on Oct. 19.
The Sashing Ceremony will be held on Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. at SM City Bacolod.
All 15 candidates will be officially presented and sashed, marking the start of their journey toward the pageant’s coronation night, Lopez said.
As part of the tradition, the media will play an important role in selecting the candidate who best exemplifies grace, charm, and media savviness.
Journalists and other members of the press will participate in a question-and-answer session with the candidates, where the contestants will discuss their advocacies.
The media will then evaluate each candidate’s ability to communicate effectively, connect with the public, and embody the values of Bacolod City and the MassKara Festival.
After the Q&A, media members will cast their votes to decide who will be awarded the prestigious “Darling of the Press” title.
With strong contenders for this year’s crown, the Miss Bacolod MassKara Pageant remains one of the most anticipated highlights of the world-famous festival.
The pageant aims for a national title and celebrates not only the beauty and intellect of Bacolod’s young women, but also their dedication to social causes and community leadership.
The event serves as a platform for candidates to advocate for meaningful change and promote Bacolod City’s vibrant culture, Lopez added.
