Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW), Iloilo’s leading water utility, is set to welcome Angelo David Berba as its new Chief Operating Officer on April 1.
Berba succeeds Engr. Robert Cabiles, who has been instrumental in the company’s expansion and operational improvements.
Berba’s appointment comes at a time when MPIW is focusing on implementing innovative operational plans, project execution excellence, and service digitalization.
With a history of significant roles at Manila Water Company, Aboitiz Equity Ventures/Aboitiz Infra Capital Inc., and Metro Pacific Dumaguete Water, Berba is an experienced leader in the water sector.
His expertise in driving customer-centric initiatives and organizational changes will be pivotal for MPIW as it transitions into a new growth phase, focusing on customer service enhancement, community benefits, and career opportunities for locals.
Berba expressed enthusiasm about his new position, noting, “I’m delighted to be joining MPIW at such an important point in the company’s evolution as the water infrastructure development transition gathers pace. We are entering a new growth phase and I look forward to continuing the great work that Rob and the MPIW team have done so far to build an operational platform that can deliver improved service for our customers, create inspiring career opportunities for Ilonggo’s, and generate improved community benefits.”
MPIW, a joint venture between Metro Pacific Water (MPW) and Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD), is a prime example of a successful public-private partnership in the Philippines’ water sector.
The appointment of Berba is anticipated to further strengthen MPIW’s commitment to providing sustainable and efficient water services to the Iloilo community.
His official tenure as COO begins on April 1st, marking a new chapter for MPIW in delivering on its operational and service excellence promises.
