THE Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office 6 (MGB)-6 of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) passed the surveillance audit for its implementation of the ISO Integrated Management System (IMS).
The IMS covered three standards BS EN ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System, BS EN ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System, and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Health and Safety Management System, which are compliant with the British Standard (BS) and European Norm (EN).
NQA, an external audit body of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) conducted the surveillance audit last December 20-21, 2018.
The surveillance determines the implementation of MGB-6 of the three ISO certifications which NQA awarded it in March 2018.
NQA commended the commitment of MGB RO-6 top management and staff in implementing the IMS. It also noted as good points the active participation of all MGB RO-6 staff and auditees, the good results of its customer satisfaction survey, and a much-improved record filling and keeping.
The audit body pointed out as well the opportunities for improvement, which would propel the organization towards greater improvement in its systems and procedures.
MGB-6 Regional Director Roger A. de Dios affirmed the hard work, cooperation and continued efforts of the employees to improve the system and manner in serving its clients.
De Dios likewise expressed his commitment and full support for the welfare of the employees and to work hand-in-hand with them in not just meeting but surpassing its previous efforts to make the agency fulfill excellence in public service following international standards as embodied in its ISO Integrated Management System policy.
