With just days before the May 12 elections, Miss Eco International 2025 Alexie Mae Brooks is calling on voters—especially the youth—to make informed, thoughtful choices at the polls.

During her homecoming press conference on May 5 in Iloilo City, Brooks underscored the importance of electing leaders who not only promise progress but genuinely care for the people.

“It is important that we vote for someone who is not only working toward what they are talking about, but who cares about the people more,” she said.

“At the end of the day, we want to choose the right leader—someone who loves the people and wants to see not only our city but also our country progress.”

Brooks stressed that electing public officials is a long-term responsibility and that voters should look beyond temporary promises.

“We have to be critical of the person we are voting for,” she said.

“We need to ensure they are not only passionate about the issues they advocate for, but that they are genuine, and their commitment to the people is real.”

The beauty queen made history as the third Filipina to win the Miss Eco International title during the pageant held in Egypt on April 20.

She urged young people to actively take part in the democratic process by casting their votes.

“Vote wisely, and make sure the people we vote for are there to help us, regardless of the campaign period,” Brooks said.

“I encourage my fellow young individuals to go out and vote.”
