BACOLOD City – Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo of Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental said that the two-storey isolation facility for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients will be completed in November 2020.
The construction of the facility at Barangay 6 started in July.
Yulo said that quarantine facility will have 14 rooms and has an allocation of P4 million sourced from the P11-million Bayanihan grant the town received from the national government.
She said the local government decided to build the facility to address the lack of quarantine centers in the province due to the recent upsurge of COVID-19 cases in the province.
The mayor also said that the town currently has two quarantine centers and are on the verge of being filled up.
Meanwhile, Yulo also said that around P1.5 million has been sourced from the development fund of the town for the construction of several steel footbridges in the outskirt villages of the town.
A 30-meter foot bridge was built in Barangay Quintin Remo and another 25 meters in Barangay Guinpana-an while Barangay Magallon Cadre has 12 meters she said.
The bridges were built between March to July of this year to address the safety of the barangay residents as they used to cross the creeks using a makeshift bridge.
