Tribu Parianon of Molo, Iloilo City is the grand champion in the Dinagyang 2023 tribes competition.
It bested seven other contingents in Sunday’s Dagyang sa Barangay tribal competition to take home a P1 million cash prize.
The following tribes complete the Top 3:
1st runner-up (P300,000) – Tribu Molave kang Salog
2nd runner-up (P200,00) – Tribu Familia Sagasa
The technical awards for Dagyang sa Barangay went to the following:
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD – Tribu Molave kang Salog
BEST IN DISCIPLINE – Tribu Panaad
BEST IN MUSIC – Tribu Parianon
BEST IN COSTUME DESIGN AND HEADDRESS – Tribu Molave kang Salog
BEST IN PRODUCTION DESIGN – Tribu Molave kang Salog
BEST IN CHOREOGRAPHY – Tribu Parianon
BEST IN PERFORMANCE – Tribu Parianon
Meanwhile, Tribu Jalaud of Calinog, Iloilo was named champion of the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan competition and brought home the P400,000 cash prize.
Jalaud’s performance featured the Sugidanon or epics of the Panay Bukidnon tribe of Calinog.
The following tribes complete the Top 4:
1st runner-up (P200,000): Guban Manughaw-as sang Dumangas of Dumangas, Iloilo
2nd runner-up (100,000): Tribu Madia-as of Culasi, Antique
3rd runner-up (P75,000): Pasalamat Festival of La Carlota City, Negros Occidental
The minor and special awards went to the following (P10,000 cash prize with trophy):

BEST COSTUME DESIGNER – Guban Manughaw-as sang Dumangas from Dumangas, Iloilo (Dr. Tomas Panceles, Junber Larroder, and Weng Sarabia

BEST MUSICAL DIRECTOR – Tribu Madia-as from Culasi, Antique (Ryan Velez)
BEST IN STREET DANCE – Tribu Jalaud from the municipality of Calinog
BEST IN CHOREOGRAPHY – Tribu Jalaud from the municipality of Calinog
BEST CHOREOGRAPHER – Tribu Jalaud from the municipality of Calinog (Ernie D. Salmeron)
BEST IN PERFORMANCE – Guban Manughaw-as sang Dumangas from Dumangas, Iloilo
ILOMINATION
Tribu La Paz dominated the ILOmination, Dinagyang festival’s newest competition which featured tribe warriors performing in lighted costumes. ILOmination was first rolled out Saturday evening.
LaPaz brought home the P1 million cash prize.
Tribu Molo was 1st runner-up (P300,000) while Tribu Mandurriao was 2nd runner-up (P200,000.
