Last year, the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) and its Regional Extension Units (REUs) conducted numerous free on-line OSH trainings nationwide.
OSHC-REU6 alone conducted a total of 40 batches of free 10-hr BOSH training for Safety Officer 1. The program aimed to enhance workplace health and safety, and ease the burden on micro, small and medium businesses amid the gush of the CoVid-19 pandemic.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Department Order 198 series of 2018 which is the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act 11058 entitles “An Act Strengthening Compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof” requires the training and appointment of a Safety Officer To ensure the compliance with safety and health standards.
Relative to this, the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) will continue to offer free mandatory OSH Trainings via virtual conference weekly for the whole year of 2022 in Western Visayas.
OSHC – REU 6 will conduct the following Free virtual OSH trainings
- 10-hr Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training for Safety Officer 1
- 40-hr Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training for Safety Officer 2
- 40-hr Construction Safety and Health (COSH) Training for Safety Officer 2
“All of the concepts and principles of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) will be discussed in these training programs. We would like ensure that the provision of safety and health standards will be implemented in every workplace, not just merely for the compliance, but of course to ensure that all of you will not get sick or have the accidents.” said Evelyn C. Tanday, OIC-Chief of the Environment Control Division of the Occupational Safety and Health Center.
“We will assist both the private and public sector in developing their OSH policies and programs to create a zero-accident culture in Western Visayas.
