MORE Power Marks 2 Million Safe Man-Hours

MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power) has achieved 2 million safe man-hours without a lost-time incident, reinforcing its commitment to workplace safety.

The milestone was celebrated during the company’s fifth anniversary with a week-long event themed “2 Million Hours Strong: Safety at the Heart of Our Power.”

Activities included the First Aid Olympics, a Safety and Health Quiz Bee, a Theme-Making Contest, and the Safety Champion Award.

Engr. Roberto Onde, senior labor employment officer of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 6, lauded MORE Power’s achievement on behalf of Regional Director Atty. Sixto Popoy Rodriguez Jr.

“It is a privilege to celebrate this remarkable milestone with you,” Onde said. “Our visits are often due to workplace incidents, so being here to witness your success is truly commendable. We encourage you to sustain this momentum and continue prioritizing employee safety, as they are your greatest asset.”

Among the highlights was the recognition of lineman Erol June M. Anzures as the Safety Champion. He underscored the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.

“Always wear the proper PPE while working,” Anzures said. “It’s very important because safety should always come first on the job. If you’re not safe, many things can happen to you.”

MORE Power has consistently enforced strict safety measures, including continuous education and skills training, while managing high-voltage electricity.

The company commended its linemen and contractors for their discipline and commitment to ensuring workplace safety.

Engr. Bailey R. Del Castillo, vice president for the Network Development and Operations Group, emphasized the company’s long-term safety vision.

“Safety is everyone’s priority,” Del Castillo said. “Let’s continue the next five years with the same mindset. Our target is 3 million. We will look forward to the next 3 million in five years.”

MORE Power aims to achieve its next safety milestone by maintaining stringent safety protocols and fostering a culture of responsibility among its workforce.

In recognition of its achievement, MORE Power received the DOLE Safety Excellence Award for recording 2,072,713 safe man-hours, further solidifying its dedication to workplace safety.
