MORE Electric and Power Corporation has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure stable power supply during the Dinagyang Festival from January 24-26, 2025, in Iloilo City.
The distribution utility’s contingency plan addresses the anticipated surge in power demand throughout the festivities.
“We have extensive preparations, including preventive maintenance and dedicated response teams, to handle any power-related concerns during the festival,” said MORE Power President and CEO Roel Castro.
Preventive maintenance from January 22-25 includes tree trimming near feeder lines, equipment inspections of Automatic Circuit Reclosers and Load Break Switches, and monitoring of power distribution loads.
The company has mobilized its workforce, including regular employees and contractors, to support these preparations.
Response teams will be stationed at the Freedom Grandstand, Provincial Capitol, Food Festival Area, Delgado-Mabini-Quezon-Ledesma Streets, SM-San Rafael-Megaworld Area, and Megaworld Substation Control Center.
Festivalgoers can visit the MORE Power assistance booth along Delgado-Valeria Street near Mercury Drug Store.
Emergency response teams will maintain positions across all festival zones to address potential interruptions.
The utility will operate a 24/7 helpline with officers working three shifts from January 24-26.
The company’s warehouse will remain open January 25-26 for logistical support.
Line crews and response teams will work rotating shifts to ensure continuous coverage during critical festival periods.
These preparations demonstrate MORE Power’s commitment to delivering uninterrupted service throughout the Dinagyang Festival.
“Our goal is to provide reliable power so everyone can fully enjoy the Dinagyang celebrations,” Castro said.
