More than P120,000 worth of ‘shabu’ seized

BACOLOD City – An estimated total of PHP123,840 worth of suspected shabu was seized from seven persons in separate buy-bust operations here and in Negros Occidental from February 15 to 17.

In Silay City, Alex Lapu-os, 45, of Barangay Rizal was arrested in Barangay 3 last Tuesday after he allegedly yielded seven grams of suspected shabu worth PHP47,600, the PHP500 marked money, PHP3,000 boodle money, and PHP140.

Also arrested that day in Barangay Lag-asan, Bago City was Jerry Emilia, 42, of the said village.

Police recovered from him five sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP3,400, the PHP300 marked money, and PHP160.

On the same day, Jeffrey Openio, 39, of Barangay Old Poblacion, Escalante City, was arrested in the said village.

Openio yielded three sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP2,040, and the PHP500 marked money.

In Bacolod, Albert Orilla Jr., 25; and Leonel Diaz, 28, both residents of Barangay 3 were arrested at Barangay 38, which resulted in the seizure of five sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP6,000. Both suspects are detained at Police Station 1.

Last Monday, Rodelio Samodio, 37, of Barangay Mansilingan here was arrested in the said village for the confiscation of three sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP40,800, and the PHP300 marked money.

Samodio, according to the police, is a high value target. He is detained at Police Station 7.

Also arrested that day in Barangay 27 here was Reymundo Guillero, 18, of the said village.

Police confiscated from him four sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP24,000, and the marked money. He is detained at Police Station 5.

Drug charges will be filed against the seven suspects.
