More than P400-K in ‘shabu’ seized

BACOLOD City – A total of P449,727.60 worth of suspected shabu was seized in the nine-day drug haul by the local police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) here and in Negros Occidental.

Forty-four persons were arrested in separate buy-bust operations from February 19 to 27.

P110,500 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in the drug bust operations in Barangays 12, 27, 40, Handumanan, Alijis, and Sum-ag here.

Nine persons were apprehended by personnel of Police Stations 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) here.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) also seized P237,227.60 worth of the said contraband last week.

Twenty-eight individuals were arrested in the cities of San Carlos, Cadiz, Victorias, Bago, Silay, Talisay, Sagay, Himamaylan, La Carlota, and the towns of Toboso, Hinigaran, Manapla, Murcia, Pontevedra, Calatrava, Valladolid, E.B. Magalona, and Hinoba-an.

Meanwhile, PDEA-6 Special Enforcement Team (SET) arrested seven individuals and dismantled an alleged drug den in Barangay Banago here on February 26.

PDEA seized P102,000 worth of suspected shabu.

These drug recoveries are on top of the P1.6 million worth of suspected shabu seized by the CDEU here last week.
