ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Capiz Governor Nonoy Bacero Contreras announced that the province recently received 12,200 doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

He said the vaccines arrived at the Roxas City Airport from the World Health Organization (WHO) Vaccine Facility (8,200 doses) and Japan (4,000 doses).

Because of the additional vaccines, the governor said that more Capicenos would be vaccinated against the deadly virus.

The governor thanked the continued support from the national and even international agencies in the fight against the disease.

Meanwhile, the chief of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office(PDRRMO) in Capiz confirmed that vaccination and cooperation in the observance of health protocol contributed to the decrease in cases.

PDRRMO head Judy Grace Pelaez said her observation was based on their latest survey and report from the different towns.

She also noted the decrease in the hospital utilization rate of the province.

She advised the public not to be complacent even if the quarantine status of province was downgraded to General Community Quarantine.
