Most COVID-19 cases in Capiz asymptomatic

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – 141 of the 162 active coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Capiz are asymptomatic or have no symptoms.

This was based on data released by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) on Oct 8, 2020.

Based on the PHO report, only 21 cases showed symptoms.

The reports also indicated that 68 of the active cases are under quarantine in the Barangay or Municipal Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF), 43 in the Provincial TTMF, while 25 are in home quarantine and 26 are confined in the hospitals.

As of Friday morning, Capiz has 593 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 350 recoveries, and 33 deaths.

Roxas City has 128 new active cases, 185 recoveries, and 27 deaths for a total of 340 confirmed cases.

The PHP also reported that 53 health workers in Roxas City were infected with COVID-19.

Of the number, 39 have recovered while 14 are still active cases.

Of the 14 active cases, 11 work for private health facilities and three in government health facilities.

Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas has asked the public to always observe health protocols such as wearing of face mask, face shield, and physical distancing.
