BACOLOD City – Police are probing the alleged robbery incident that also wounded a woman after she was stabbed by an unidentified man on a motorcycle in Barangay San Fernando, Talisay City, Negros Occidental last Friday.
Police Lieutenant Peter John Ramos, deputy police chief of Talisay City Police Station, said the 45-year-old victim was walking home after visiting their newly constructed house in San Fernando when the suspect suddenly appeared in front of her and allegedly dragged her to a house, which is also under construction.
Ramos said the victim alleged that the suspect took her P3,000 cash.
The suspect then allegedly stabbed and left her unconscious with injuries in the chest and abdomen.
Ramos said the victim regained her consciousness the following day and sought help from nearby residents. She was then taken to the infirmary.
Police recovered from the scene a kitchen knife believed to be used by the perpetrator.
Ramos said they are uncertain if the suspect targeted the victim randomly or she was being monitored already, since she frequently visits their house in the village.
Ramos said they have no lead yet on the identity of the perpetrator.
Just this month, about five robbery incidents were reported in the province – three in Kabankalan City, the recent one in Talisay City, and the alleged bank robbery in Hinoba-an town.
Police earlier said that same perpetrators were behind the three robbery hold-up incidents in Kabankalan City.
