Murder charges have been filed against two brothers accused of fatally shooting the driver of Land Transportation Office Region 6 Director Gaudioso Geduspan II.

Pavia police chief Maj. Dadje Delima said the case was filed before the Iloilo Provincial Prosecutor’s Office on Saturday morning.

The suspects, identified as Jester, 45, and Jessie, 40, were accused of killing Wilmer Villarosa, a native of Janiuay, Iloilo.

Jester, a neighbor of Geduspan at Parc Regency in Barangay Ungka II, Pavia, and his brother Jessie, a security guard from Clark, Pampanga, were arrested at a police checkpoint in Barangay Aspera, Sara, Iloilo shortly before midnight on April 3.

The suspects, who are originally from Sara, were caught in a dragnet operation.

CCTV footage captured the moment the two suspects fired multiple shots at Villarosa, who was standing outside Geduspan’s residence around 9:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Villarosa sustained five gunshot wounds and was declared dead shortly after.

The suspects fled the scene aboard Jester’s white Isuzu Crosswind AUV but were later intercepted.

However, police did not recover Jester’s alleged 9mm pistol or Jessie’s .22-caliber revolver.

The brothers claimed they acted in self-defense, alleging that Villarosa had previously threatened to kill them.

They told investigators they killed him before he could carry out the alleged threat.

Jester claimed that on January 8, Villarosa stared at him intently while he and his daughter left their house, which alarmed him.

He said the victim was holding a belt bag, which he found suspicious.

Jester also alleged that similar incidents occurred in December 2024 and again on January 21.

He further admitted to having a dispute with Geduspan, who serves as president of their homeowners’ association, over increased monthly dues.

It was also revealed that Geduspan had filed a serious complaint against Jester on January 20.

In his report, Geduspan claimed Jester was seen on January 18 brandishing a .22-caliber hunting rifle with a scope, a black 9mm pistol and a hand grenade in his garage.

Jester was allegedly showing the weapons to another man during the afternoon incident.

Despite the complaint, no apparent action was taken by authorities to verify whether Jester possessed unlicensed firearms and explosives.
