A lone suspect was charged for the killing of a 16-year-old boy in Bingawan, Iloilo.

Lieutenant Martin Pugales, Bingawan police chief, said they filed a murder case against Cocky Dalupines, 19, of Libacao, Aklan on September 13 with the Iloilo Provincial Prosecutors’ Office.

Pugales said that investigators determined that Dalupines’ older brother, who was earlier deemed as a person of interest, had no participation in the murder.

Police could not ascertain if their 10-year-old cousin had a hand in the killing of Ian Adorable.

Dalupines is the brother of a 13-year-old girl who accused Adorable of allegedly raping her on May 2021.

Her testimony that she saw her older brother and his cousin with blood on their hands on the night the murder happened was used in filing the case.

Pugales said Dalupines also admitted to his mother that he killed Adorable.

Aside from testimonies, police also recovered a slipper at the crime scene which allegedly belonged to Dalupines.

While no charge was filed against the 10-year-old, his whereabouts also remains uncertain following the incident.

Adorable’s body was found morning of September 9 in a cornfield at Barangay Alabidhan.

Pugales said that revenge was seen as the motive of the incident.

No formal complaint was charged against Adorable over the accusation that he sexually molested Dalupines’ younger sister.

Following the murder, the girl told police investigators that she saw his brother sharpening a knife prior to the incident.

She later saw him and their cousin with blood on their hands and clothes.

Adorable was found dead with his throat slit and his body riddled with stab injuries.
