Murder suspect arrested

A man accused of murdering his neighbor was arrested in Banate, Iloilo morning of May 10, 2021.

Crispin Cerbando, 27, a resident of Barangay Mapili, San Enrique town, was at a friend’s house in the adjacent Managopaya village in Banate when collared by police.

Officers of the Regional Intelligence Division 6 and Banate Police Station nabbed Cerbando by virtue of an arrest warrant for murder in Criminal Case No. 20-9819.

Judge Domingo Casiple Jr. of the Iloilo Regional Trial Court Branch 68 in P.D. Monfort, Dumangas, Iloilo, issued the arrest warrant on April 13, 2021.

No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

Cerbando was involved in a hacking incident that transpired evening of May 3, 2020 which resulted in the death of his neighbor at Barangay Mapili, San Enrique.

Staff Sergeant Elmer Lamera, San Enrique police investigator, said Cerbando was allegedly drinking liquor and had been listening to music at high volume.

Since it was already late at night, the victim allegedly asked the suspect if he could lower down the volume.

But Cerbando did not take it well and attacked his neighbor.

Aside from back injuries, autopsy report showed that the victim also suffered a gunshot injury.

Cerbando is now detained.
