Museo Iloilo, the first government-sponsored museum in our beloved country outside of Metro Manila, celebrated its 55th anniversary this year. To commemorate this milestone, a spectacular fashion show was staged to honor the museum’s history.
The event was spearheaded by Museo Iloilo’s President Gina Sarabia-Espinosa and Chairwoman Imelda Caperonce-Florete. A sold-out dinner fashion show, dubbed “Salapid,” showcased the stunning creations of the Iloilo Fashion Designers Guild Inc., along with two of Metro Manila’s top fashion designers, Sydney Esculla and Jojie Lloren. The special guest of the evening was TIEZA COO Mark Lapid.
As the Chairwoman stated in her welcome message, “For the past 55 years, Museo Iloilo has been a pioneering cultural institution, not only in Western Visayas but also in the country.”
The scene was glitzy as attendees arrived in their most glamorous ensembles for the red carpet fashion event at the plush Iloilo Convention Center.
Adding sparkle to the fashion runway were real people and professional models, led by celebrity actress and beauty queen Roberta Tamondon and top model Ria Bolivar.
