The MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) has reaffirmed its support for Philippine football, extending its backing for the Philippine Women’s National Football Team (PWNT) and various youth development programs led by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF).
MVPSF, the sports arm of the MVP Group of companies, played a pivotal role in the PWNT’s historic qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023. The foundation funded scouting and training camps in the U.S., discovering talents like Sarina Bolden, a key player for the Filipinas.
“MVPSF is making history in Philippine football as it continues to sponsor the Philippine Women’s National Football Team, the Filipinas, and also extending a helping hand to our various youth development activities in football and futsal,” said PFF President John Anthony Gutierrez.
The foundation’s renewed commitment encompasses funding for flagship grassroots initiatives, including the Football Starts At Home (FSAH) program, which teaches ball mastery to children aged 3 to 6 with the guidance of their parents. MVPSF will also support the Futsal Liga Eskwela competitions, Festivals of Football nationwide, and regional youth leagues.
MVPSF’s patronage extended to the ASEAN Women’s Futsal Championship 2024, underscoring its focus on the development of both football and futsal at all levels.
“MVP Sports Foundation has been very instrumental to the success of world-class Filipino athletes such as Hidilyn Diaz, Carlos Yulo, Nesthy Petecio, and many more,” added Gutierrez. “We at PFF take pride in the partnership and look forward to writing a new, and exciting chapter of Philippine football and futsal with MVPSF.”
Since 2012, MVPSF has been at the forefront of talent identification and development for Philippine football, ensuring that Filipino athletes have the resources and support to excel on the global stage.
For 2025, the foundation aims to further solidify its role in shaping the future of Philippine football, with sustained investments in both national teams and grassroots programs.
