The Boston Celtics have just achieved their longest winning streak of the ongoing NBA regular season, extending it to seven straight games after crushing the Chicago Bulls 129-112 on February 23, 2024. Following a pair of six-game winning streaks in previous months, the Celtics surpassed their prior record to kick off their post-NBA All-Star break on an impressive note.
The Celtics had to overcome a sluggish start, watching a 16-point lead evaporate in the second quarter as the Bulls ignited from downtown, outscoring them 39-28. From holding a double-digit advantage, Boston found itself in precarious waters, trailing by three points at halftime.
Rising to the challenge for Boston were Jayson Tatum and Derrick White, who provided the much-needed offensive surge to reclaim control. The dynamic duo was firing on all cylinders in the third quarter, propelling the Celtics to another sizeable lead.
This momentum carried the Celtics through the fourth quarter, allowing them to safeguard their lead until the final buzzer. White emerged as Boston’s linchpin in the victory, leading the game with 28 points on a 9/14 shooting spree, complemented by five assists, three blocks, three rebounds, and two steals.
Tatum contributed to the win with a comprehensive performance of 25 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis also made significant contributions to the Eastern Conference matchup, adding 21 and 14 points, respectively.
The Celtics will look to maintain their winning momentum on February 25, 2024, against the formidable New York Knicks.
