Commissioner Adam Silver and the rest of the NBA committee just released bold statements regarding the current play style of today’s game.

During an interview in the championship match of the recently concluded NBA Cup, Silver reiterated that the league is considering some changes due to the high volume of three-point shooting every team takes in the current state of the NBA.

Silver addressed the average treys each team attempts, with the reigning NBA champions Boston Celtics leading the list with 51.1 sprays per game.

For the man who acted as the league’s head honcho for almost 10 years now, having to witness this play style is unfair, as he believes that the players have a lot more to offer on the playing court due to their high skill level.

“It’s unfair, I think, to the players to lump them into categories as three-point shooters or a midrange shooter or big man playing under the basket. It’s an amazing game,” said Silver.

After thorough brainstorming with his staff, Silver confirmed that they are finding ways to find a solution, and one of them is how to improve the NBA game ‘stylistically’.

Silver pointed out more diversity on the offensive side for the teams, but he failed to dive deep into the details of what he specifically meant.

An idea of moving the three-point line came into mind, but Silver quickly scrapped it due to the tendency of the teams to clog inside the shaded lane.

As of now, Silver and his team will conduct a series of meetings to address their concern, and will immediately relay the final proposal to the franchises once they reach an agreement.

I watch as many games as all of you do, and to the extent that it’s not so much a three-point issue, but that some of the audience, some of the offenses start to look sort of cookie cutter and teams are copying each other. I think that’s something we should pay attention to,” Silver added.
