Was that even a contest? Or just a team showcase?
The beatdown almost came to a point where it wasn’t a game anymore; it was already becoming a pickup match on the blacktop.
On March 4, 2026, the San Antonio Spurs recorded their most dominant win in the ongoing 2025-26 NBA regular season after annihilating the Philadelphia 76ers by 40 points, 131-91.
The recent demolition outdid their road win over the Dallas Mavericks in October 2025, where they mauled them by 33 points, 125-92.
Fresh off a disappointing loss to the New York Knicks that officially ended their 11-game winning streak, the Spurs set foot on uncharted territory at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia with a determined mindset, successfully bouncing back and returning to the NBA win column.
Eight players hit double figures for San Antonio, led by the backcourt duo of Devin Vassell and Dylan Harper, who topped the team with 22 points apiece.
However, it was the starting unit that set the tone for the runaway show, as the quartet of Victor Wembanyama, De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, and Julian Champagnie steered the Spurs to an early 78–53 advantage in the first half.
Demoralizing, shocking, and painful to watch, the 19,746 loyal Philadelphia fans who flocked to the Xfinity Mobile Arena were dead silent as they witnessed the Spurs rain down on their team for 24 straight minutes.
Unfortunately, that opening half startled the 76ers for the next 24 minutes, as they failed to rekindle the spark they had when they outdueled the Miami Heat in their last win.
San Antonio just stomped its way through the next two quarters, even ballooning its largest lead of the game to as much as 49 points in the second half.
With nothing going for the 76ers, an early bench overhaul took place as their starters headed to the bench due to the impossible comeback attempt.
Aside from Vassell and Harper, Castle also put on a show for the Spurs, dropping an efficient double-double of 15 points, 10 assists, and four rebounds.
Holding the fort for the bench mob that joined hands with Vassell, Harper, and Castle was the ever-reliable Keldon Johnson, who added 12 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.
San Antonio will look to pick up where it left off on March 6, 2026, as it faces Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons, while Philadelphia aims to bounce back from the embarrassing loss today against the Utah Jazz.
