NCF suspends 3 Filipino chess players

3 Filipinos were identified by chess.com to violate the fair play policy (chess.com)

Several Filipinos violated the fair play policy during a tournament by chess.com and the Lichess online tournament.

Rizalyn Tejada – a member of the UAAP women’s championship FEU squad, Heather Chelsea Murillo, and Jethro Aquino were found violating the fair play policy in a tournament held last May 10, 2020 by chess.com.

For the information of everybody, violation of the fair policy is when one competing chess player seeks help from an outsider during a match.

Tejada’s victory against top seed Uumi Fisabililaho of Indonesia in the Eastern Asia Junior Championship created controversy.

However, for the boys’ division, Eric Labog Jr, International Master John Marvin Miciano, and teen Daniel Quizon will advance to the top 16.
