BACOLOD City – We will be prepared in the May 2022 polls.

This was the assurance of Police Colonel Germano Mallari, as he assumed as acting director of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo) last Thursday.

Mallari replaced Police Colonel Glenn Mayam during the turnover of command presided by Police Brigadier General Roque Eduardo Dela Peña Vega, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 in Cebu City.

In his message, Mallari said he will ensure peace and order in the province and will also continue the fight against illegal drugs, and the anti-criminality campaign.

He also vowed to intensify the internal cleansing program of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and sustain the efforts of the police against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mallari was formerly assigned as director of Dinagat Islands Police Provincial Office in Caraga.

For his part, Vega challenged Mallari to do his best to sustain the accomplishments of Norppo, and to maintain peace and order in the province.
