BACOLOD CITY – A content creator from Bacong, Negros Oriental, has apologized to authorities after posting a viral video that sparked public outrage over the weekend.
Police Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson for the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo), said the video showed a man lying in the middle of a road as cars passed by.
The Highway Patrol Group (HPG)-Negros Oriental launched a search and quickly identified the man.
He was identified as Jerome, who appeared before Police Senior Master Sgt. Aurelio Bodo of the provincial HPG on March 31 and issued an apology.
In a media interview, Jerome admitted the stunt was dangerous and said it was done purely for online content.
“I apologize to those who were dragged in the video,” he said in the local dialect.
He also vowed not to produce similar videos in the future.
Bodo said the content creator may face charges related to public alarm and scandal.
