BACOLOD City – Local police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)- 6 arrested nine persons with the total confiscation of P326,400 worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations here on March 29 and 30, 2022.

The biggest haul was reported in Barangay Singcang-Airport last Wednesday, wherein the subject identified as Jay-r Dela Torre, 33; and his alleged runner John Rence Navales, 18, both residents of the said village, were apprehended.

Lieutenant Joeven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said both of them were considered newly-identified drug personalities.

Mogato said that Dela Torre allegedly instructs Navales to get the illegal drugs from their source, while the former repacks it for distribution.

“Pero upod sila gabaligya,” Mogato said, adding that they already have a lead on their source but refused to elaborate further for follow-up operation.

Police recovered from them 25 grams of suspected shabu worth P170,000, and the P1,000 marked money.

Prior that day, Mark Anthony Evidente, 34, of the said village was also arrested in the barangay, after he allegedly yielded six grams of suspected shabu worth P40,800, and the P200 marked money.

All three of them are detained at Police Station 8.

Meanwhile, PDEA-6 and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) dismantled an alleged drug den in Barangay 19 last Wednesday.

Five persons were busted, including the alleged drug den maintainer identified as Romeo Cabarles of Barangay Lag-asan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

The drug sting also resulted in the confiscation of 12 grams of suspected shabu worth P81,600, cellular phones, disposable lighters, improvised tooters, a scoop, and the marked money.

A man was also arrested that day in Barangay 28 for the confiscation of five grams of suspected shabu worth P34,000, and the P500 marked money. He is detained at Police Station 6.
