BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said travel to local government units in the province with triple digit Covid-19 cases and filled up quarantine facilities will be prohibited.

But Lacson said inbound travel to LGUs with available occupancy in quarantine facilities will still be allowed.

The governor also said that inbound travelers are required to register in the S-Pass system aside from presenting negative RT-PCR test results upon entry to Negros Occidental.

“This new strategy is also another way of controlling the number of travelers coming into Negros Occidental,” Lacson said.

As of May 6, Negros Occidental has 2,631 active cases.

Currently, 10 Negros Occidental LGUs have triple-digit active COVID cases.

Lacson noted that Negros Occidental has a new case every day.

Earlier, Provincial Incident Management Team head Gerhart Zeaphard Caelian said quarantine facilities in Negros Occidental are in critical stages.
